KY MUN
KYMUN Club, a club that aims to bring bright young minds together to discuss and address important and current affairs, ranging from the crimes committed by the DPRK (North Korea) to Game Of Thrones.
We are a group of students who follow procedure similar to that for the actual United Nations who actively discuss and debate to pass resolutions on current disputes to help bring feasible solutions to some very real world problems.
MUN combines skills of debate and public speaking with the consideration and sensitivity to situations that countries in our world find themselves in. In this current political climate, it is more important than ever for bright students to have a platform to discuss and analyse solutions to our problems.
It is rooted strongly in our beliefs that transparency and good debate our bring our world to the forefront of a much more peaceful century.

KY Kaigi
KY Kaigi brings you the best of both worlds: MUN councils and Academic Councils.
The politics and socials council will be conducted under MUN procedures with slight modifications to the conventional format.
For the socials council, THIMUN procedures will be incorporated. Delegates will have to represent countries and fight for the interest of their countries while preserving and maintaining relations with other nations.
Similarly, the politics council will also be conducted following THIMUN procedures. However, the format will be altered slightly as the council itself will be a simulation of the US congress rather than the usual international council. Delegates will take up the roles of US senators and fight for the interests of their respective parties and political associations.
Both the economics and the science & tech councils will be conducted under an academic forum format. The format and plans for these councils have been laid out by the Head-Of-Councils (HOCs) in the council page along with various research packs.
Numerous thought provoking activities have been lined out for you, ready for you to explore the possibilities! From case studies, to debate sessions, to discussions and even games!
The Kaigi committee has chosen this format in hopes that you will be able to learn something new and lead the movement of change and progression in the near future!

The Theme
Building bridges, connecting minds, transcending boundaries
In this current global climate of revolutionary policies and ground breaking technological advancements, scholars of the world need to come together to bridge their expertise in coming up with wholesome solutions to some of our current global predicaments. As our world enters a new era of post-truths, now, more than ever, we need intensive and fruitful discussions that will trigger more and more inventive solutions to our world’s more pressing issues.
In the midst of the eventful social and political atmosphere of the 2010s, KY Kaigi comes at a time where there are no shortages of stimulating current issues to be discussed and debated on. Throughout the day, delegates will find themselves in intense consideration and analysis of current issues such as the submergence of island nations due to the melting of the polar ice caps or the safety features and ethics surrounding autonomous vehicles.
A conference founded on the intellectual aspirations of our students, KY Kaigi aims to lay the cornerstones for students to have a conversation about the disputes, from near and far away countries, that plague our planet today. This builds an innate sense of social responsibility in delegates towards every boy and girl, from every race and religion who share the same Earth. KY Kaigi’s primary intent is for every delegate to walk away from it with the same conviction: the inherent knowledge that we are all connected and that our mere thoughts and actions could move mountains for those on the other side of the world.
